The HighLife Short Film

A young lady, Afi, finds out she was left a box of unlabelled vinyl records at her deceased stepfather’s will reading. She is not sure how to feel about it given their complicated relationship prior to his (stepfather’s) passing but she’s sent on a journey of discovery and music. Inspired and soundtracked by Palmwine Diaries Vol. 1 by Juls.

• Filmed in 2 days and 4 locations in Accra, Ghana.
• Only 2 of the 20+ cast members are professional performers.
• Locations include Jamestown Boutique, Jamestown Cafe and Independence Beach.
• This is the director’s first narrative project.
